The original Püterschein-Hingham edition designed and printed by Dorothy Abbe, published 1979.
Reprint includes the original book, hand-set in an experimental Linotype face Dwiggins designed, along with stencils and plates illustrating a dizzying array of graphical elements, a classic black and white survey of William Addison Dwiggins' work, together with an additional section of colour reproductions of his stencil work.
This edition includes the text and illustrations of the Püterschein-Hingham edition designed and printed by Dorothy Abbe, published in 1979, which was hand-set in an experimental Linotype face that Dwiggins designed and includes black-and-white stencils and plates illustrating a vast array of graphical elements. To this is appended Bruce Kennet's afterword, with color reproductions of some of Dwiggins' title designs and stencil illustrations.
