The book has complete monographs on about 800 common drugs and summaries of key information on about 350 less commonly used drugs in the appendices. Complete monographs contain generic and trade names, pronunciations, pregnancy risk category, controlled substance schedule (if appropriate), drug classes, therapeutic actions, indications, contraindications and cautions, available forms, dosages, pharmacokinetics, IV facts (if appropriate), adverse effects, interactions, nursing considerations (including assessment, interventions, teaching points). The book also has a 32-page full-color photoguide to pills and capsules for easy reference and multiple appendices that summarize key clinical information. The electronic ancillary contains 200 drug monographs and patient-teaching aids. A Canadian version of the book is endorsed by the Canadian Nursing Students' Association. The 2010 edition will be seventh straight edition available in a Canadian version carrying this endorsement.
